Hello There!

11 Nov

First off, I want to thank everyone who did me a favor of following the steps I posted in my previous entry. I owe you guys big time. And just a trivia, the guy in black shirt with the white bag is my older brother. 🙂

This post is reserved for Tom Baker to promote his interactive blogging activity that invites everyone, including first-time and even no-time visitors of my blog to participate in it. Everything is written here. If you have problems understanding it, and I have a few questions of my own, you can ask him through his blog, Morning Erection.

Community Network Meme

Creating a post every day, every other day or even once a week can be a daunting task. We are being pulled in many directions by friends and family, work, stress, fatigue, school, children, writer’s block, fear and the list goes on. Everyone who blogs has their own network of people who have visited and sometimes commented. That is your network, your personal blogging community.

Most times a blogger’s personal community of visitors and commentary stick to their own network. That means they do not interact with the personal community of other bloggers. In other words the people who visit your blog will not visit my blog just because you do. People coming to your blog will not necessarily visit the sites on your blogroll. So, everyone has their separate little network.

I’m not trying to change that, it’s just a fact of life that there are cliques even in the blogging community. What I was thinking though, is a community blog post. Before you click out of this post thinking I’m crazy, here me out… I just learned that there is a name to what I am proposing. It’s called a meme, (pronounced ‘meem)’. A meme is contagious content that spreads quickly throughout the Internet and gets the attention of many web users especially on social networks like Facebook. As a matter of fact, a meme spread through Facebook last year. Females were posting the color of the bra and panties and none of us males had any idea what the colors meant. Some of us guys are still without an idea!
I want with your help, to create “meme-like” content passed on from one blogger to another blogger. The difference is I want this planned ahead of time so that as many bloggers who want to participate, can do so; all of us on the same day and time. The numbers could be in the thousands if everyone on your blogroll takes part, and everyone on their blogroll, and so on and so on.

Suppose I asked five bloggers to participate in a community post where we all came together to answer a questionnaire. You have ten bloggers that regularly visit your blog and you ask them to participate as well. They in turn ask their friends and visitors and so on and so on.
What we would need is a group of questions, a set day to post the comment and a cumulative list of all the blogs that are willing to participate. Everyone schedules the post for that day and time and there is a potential for hundreds if not thousands of new visitors for every blog on the list. New visitors, new readers and potentially new friends. I have chosen December 12th as the date because it is far enough away for all who want to participate, to do so and it gives you the ability to get your answers finished.

If you think this is worthwhile or just a fun idea, just repost this onto your blog as soon as possible in it’s entirety. Email everyone you know who has a blog and might also be interested in this. Ask each person who is a firm commitment to add their name and blog’s name to the master list. Everyone will need to include the list in it’s entirety to their post so everyone will have the same list on their site and everyone has an equal chance at exposure.

Rules of Participation

You must agree to the Community Network MeMe date which is December 12, 2010 at 12:01.
You must agree that on December 12th you will visit at least five blog links that you have never visited before and leave a comment on their responses (my site, Fraudulent Mind, not included). Replace my site with your site.
You must answer each of the ten questions and with more than a simple yes or no response.
You must post the entire Master Meme Blog List of blogs participating regardless of how long the list may grow to be below your answered questions. (Please continuously update the list).
You must title your post the same as everyone else, “Community Network Meme”.
You must promote the Community Network Meme at least once on Facebook or some other form of social media, even if it is just your own blog to get even more bloggers to participate. Provide the link back to your original post so they can post this in its entirety, just like we did.
If you would like to participate and write the post in your language and not English, feel free to translate it or you could post both translations.
Make sure to either vote for or like the post appropriately.

1. If you could interview anyone on your blog (alive or dead) who would you chose and why?
2. What do you feel is your strength as a blogger?
3. Can you share a little bit about yourself that you have not already mentioned on your blog?
4. If you were forced to change the name of your blog, what would you change it to? Why?
5. What do you think is the most fulfilling part of being a blogger?
6. What would you do with your last day if you found you had only one more day to live?
7. You’ve been doing medical research for decades and have finally found a cure. What was it that you found a cure for and why did you choose this particular ailment?
8. What is your most guilty pleasure?
9. Answer only one. What is your favorite book, movie or TV show?
10. What do you think is the very best smell in the world? The one smell that can take you back to a time and place of a very vivid memory in your past?

COOOOOOOOOOL. Well, the first thing you have to do is visit Tom’s blog. I believe he commented just before you, and tell him to put you on the master’s list. Then, you’re eligible to participate. 🙂 All you have to do is copy the instructions to your blog, too. And be ready to answer the questions on Sunday, and comment on 10 other bloggers’ responses (those you’ve not visited before.)

That’s how I understand it at least. 🙂

Hi Carizza. You are a part of the meme too! Great, I’ll be sure to stop by here and read your answers. Tom asked me to like the photo because he couldn’t. You are very welcome and if I can help with FaceBook in the future just yell.

Are you coming to Tom’s Dinner Party too? It was nice meeting you.

Hello again, Carl. Yes, I am actually excited to read your answers. And again, thank you so much for doing me a favor back there.

I couldn’t come to Tom’s dinner party because I am oceans away from you guys. But I’d love to see you when I get the chance. 🙂

Carizza, Tom’s dinner party is a fake party. I’m sure he wants you to be there. It’s not a real party just a fun idea. If you show up to his blog on Dec. 1st, you can see what would have been if it was a real dinner. Go RSVP cause no one is really going!

HAHAHA. I was misled. Sorry about that. With all these school stuff I’m working on, I barely have time to visit my own blog. Sheesh!

I forgot, Tom. But I think it’s about the master list. I mean, do we, the participants have anything to do with the master list?
